I find this concept of the detail to be the most compelling. Instead of requiring the detail to become part of a consistent whole, the detail is instead becomes something detached, or autonomous. The detail here maybe something that is more accessible, such as a door handle. This can be a different interaction on a different scale or that this detail, while not supposing following the logic of the building as proposed in the previous examples, can layer or be placed as a contradistinction, as embedded or as detached from the larger building depending on the architect’s articulation.

For this example, one can propose another layer of figure and ground, where the building rationalize its form and design against the site but the detail can do the same but against the building as a backdrop. The contrast should be drastic enough to warrant its placement however.
